The Sensis e-Business Report 2010 reveals the case for all small businesses to pursue a mobile digital presence...
A big slab of Australia's mobile phone users surf the net on their phones. It's a marketing platform small businesses can't afford to ignore, says Sensis e-Business Report author Christina Singh. The first step is for businesses to make sure they can be found on an internet search from a mobile device. The most obvious way to do this is to have your own website. If that's a little daunting, why not give us a call and we can give you some advice on who to speak to about your web site.
41% of Australians with mobile phones are using their phones to surf the net. That's almost double the 26 per cent take-up reported a year ago.
83% of small and medium enterprises do not have a digital business strategy (only 17 per cent do), but 94 per cent have an internet presence.
80% of those with a digital business strategy are focusing on internet and website planning, with only 36 per cent pursuing a mobile phone component and 33 per cent including a social media component.
